Finding Sisu – Hidup Sehat dan Seimbang ala Orang Finlandia

Buku ini di tulis oleh Katja Pantzar tahun 2018 yang menceritakan pengalaman pribadinya dalam mengenal sisu dan bagaimana orang-orang disekitarnya khususnya orang-orang finlandia dapat hidup lebih sehat, memiliki badan yang ideal dan menumbuhkan sisu.

Lalu apa itu sisu?

Dalam bahasa finlandia sisu bisa diartikan dari banyak kata mulai dari keberanian, sikap pantang menyerah dan juga ketangguhan. Sisu merupakan konsep kuno warga finlandia yang merubah pola pikir untuk berorientasi pada tindakan.

Sisu juga banyak di kenal dengan semangat Do It Yourself (DIY) selain itu mereka juga percaya bahwa Sisu mendorong mereka untuk terus bergerak dan berfikir kreatif.

Ketika saya baca buku ini dan Katja menceritakan bagaimana kondisi kantor tempat ia bekerja saat istirahat makan siang. Dimana sebagian besar karyawan akan menggunakan 15 menit waktu istirahatnya untuk berolahraga seperti berenang, jogging air ataupun pergi ke gym yang selanjutnya makan siang bersama untuk membuat otak kembali segar.

Hemmm jadi pengen kerja disana. Hehehe. Katja menceritakan bahwa semangat yang membuat para karyawan tersebut beraktifitas seperti itu juga dinamakan dengan semangat sisu.

Lalu bagaimana mereka dapat hidup sehat dan seimbang?

karena semangat sisu yang ada dalam diri masing-masing penduduk finlandia dan dipupuk sedari dini. Maka masyarakat finlandia sangat senang dengan menyelesaikan segala sesuatu sampai tuntas.

Dimulai dengan makan-makanan yang sederhana dan bergizi seimbang dan menyantapnya 3 kali sehari. Katja bercerita bahwa makanan adalah salah satu bahan bakar yang penting untuk tumbuh. maka dari itu ia tidak bisa sembarangan dalam memberikan energi untuk bagian tubuh terutama organ dengan makan-makanan yang kurang diolah dengan baik.

Melakukan gerakan – gerakan sederhana dengan intensitas rutin dan konsisten. Dalam bukunya Katja sering bersepeda dalam segala cuaca untuk pergi ke kantor atau pergi kemanapun dalam jangkauan yang ia mampu. Baginya bersepeda merupakan kegiatan rutinitas bergerak yang murah dan membuatnya berolahraga setiap hari.

Selain bersepeda Katja juga menyebutkan adanya olahraga ‘kebetulan’ yang biasa dilakukan oleh banyak orang. Olahraga ‘kebetulan’ yang ia maksutkan seperti menyapu daun-daun gugur, memotong kayu untuk sauna, berjalan di hutan untuk memetik jamur. apapun itu yang membuat bergerak dan berkeringat.

Untuk urusan dalam keseimbangan, Katja bercerita didukung dengan berbagai hasil penelitian yang pernah dilakukan bahwa manusia perlu untuk menyatu dengan alam sebagai cara untuk menyeimbangkan diri. Untuk itu masyarakat finlandia senang berjalan di hutan, berenang di danau bahkan berenang di lautan artik pada musim dingin.

Hal ini dipercaya karena alam merubakan bagian dalam manusia dan manusia juga bagian dari alam. Maka dari itu selain berkegiatan di alam masayarakat finlandia juga di didik untuk peduli dengan alam.

Wah! saya langsung memasukan negara finlandia dalam salah satu tujuan negara yang ingin saya kunjungi, hehe. Saya penasaran dengan mencari jamur dihutan lalu mengolahnya sebagai makanan, berenang di lautan es yang dingin, dan merasakan sauna.

Minimalisme Orang Nordik

Karena sisu dalam diri masing-masing warga finlandia yang juga disebuk masarakat nordik mendorong semangat Do it yourself (DIY). Mereka juga menerapkan minimalisme untuk barang-barang kebutuhan yang digunakan. Mereka juga melakukan pengelolaan sampah pribadi dengan mendaur ulang.

Minimalisme yang dimaksutkan disini bukan menekan barang hanya pada jumalah tertentu namun lebih kearah fungsionalitas dari barang yang digunakan. Menurut Katja masyarakat nordik lebih memilih membeli barang mahal dengan fungsional yang bertahan lama dari pada harus membeli berulang barang-barang murah dengan fungsi dan ketahanan yang sederhana. Contohnya saja sebuah meja yang di desain oleh designer dengan bermacam-majam fungsional akan lebih dipilih dibandingkan membeli meja yang fungsinya hanya sebagai meja saja.

Opini Pribadi

secara keseluruhan setelah membaca buku ini, menurut saya sisu juga merupakan sikap dimana kita bisa merubah tantangan menjadi sebuah peluang. Buku ini juga berisi panduan dan contoh yang kongkret dalam beberapa hal untuk bisa diterapkan karena adanya fakta-fakta dan data dari peneliti-peneliti dunia mengenai manfaat dari setiap poin yang dijelaskan.

Yang paling menarik bagi saya selain kegiatan alam yang bikin ngiler adalah cara mengajarkan sisu pada usia dini yang dilakukan di Finlandia. Dimana anak-anak ketika diperhadapakan pada kesulitan yang ada sebagai orang tua atau guru adalah memberikan semangat untuk dapat menyelesaikan apa yang sudah anak-anak pilih sendiri untuk dapat diselesaikan. Menurut saya cara mendidik ini yang perlu diterapkan karena ini juga memberikan kepercayaan kepada anak-anak untuk bisa menyelesaikan masalahnya sendiri. Secara tidak sadarpun juga mendidik menumbuhkan rasa percaya sejak dini.

Jadi, secara garis besar buku ini membuat saya ingin merasakan negara finlandia hahahah. Bukan tapi untuk terus menumbuhkan sisu dalam diri saya. Sampai berjumpa di #Yolobooksight selanjutnya yaaaa….
